LEAD BY SERVING

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Matthew 20:25-28 (NIV)
…whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.

That was the life verse of a dear friend who went home to be with the Lord on the 15th.  I am sure I will share more about him following his celebration Monday, but suffice it to say today, this verse embodied my friend.  This verse personified my friend.
And after my buddy Tom had "group-texted" it to some of us yesterday, I was moved to share it with you today.  It is a powerful verse.  It is a verse that in 4 little lines speaks to the heart of our leader Jesus and provides CLEAR CUT direction as to how we are to live today and everyday; serving others in love.

In my ministry of recovery, we serve others in love so our FREEDOM and recovery grow. (Galatians 5:13 MSG).  For my “lil-sis” Natalie she inspires her teams to bless those who deeply need blessing; to lead by putting others first!
1 Peter 4:10 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace...

Simply put today, take the lead by serving.  Be like Jesus.
…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…

Are there some “metaphorical feet” in your life that need washing today?
Or have you packed your agenda so full with your “wants, needs and agenda” that there is not even time for a quick text or note of encouragement to another? Is your SMART PHONE CALENDAR so jammed that there is “just no time”?

Clear something and replace it with another’s need.
Come on you can do it!

Is there someone who just came to mind who could use a little help today?
Maybe a ride?
Maybe a favorable reference?
Maybe a letter of petition?
Maybe a phone number of a colleague who might be able to help a family crisis.
Maybe someone could benefit from your famous peanut butter pie or a free oil change.
I don’t know what you can do.  You do.

As that passage above reminds, EACH of us has received a gift to employ in service for others.  So don’t miss out on sharing your gift today.  Be aware of those around you.  Be led by your spirit to be available and responsive.
Be like Jesus.
Lead by serving.  You will never regret doing so.
One of the great ironies of life is this: He or she who serves almost always benefits more than he or she who is served.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley

Have a great weekend
I love you all
