KAFLOOEY

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
ARE YOU SEEKING?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“WHERE IS THE PEACE PASTOR?”
“ALL I experience is chaos, unrest, agitation, missed expectations, and failure.” “I lay awake and look at the ceiling while my past pounds in my head like a metronome on steroids.” “What gives?”
“WHERE IS THIS PEACE that PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING MAN?”
Whoa….whoa…whoa…there big fella…!
It’s there.
Philippians 4:7
New International Version (NIV)
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Actually that little nugget of TRUTH comes right before another “go to verse” for many…

Philippians 4:13

New International Version (NIV)
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
So if you have been leaning on that one, if you have a t-shirt, a token and a coffee mug and have been believing that verse then there is no reason to NOT believe the peace verse too… Ok?
You with me?
So let’s take a cleansing breath and unpack this "peace thing" for just a second this morning.
CS Lewis said this…
“God can't give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing.”
That is some rock-solid wisdom.
What is CS saying?
The key component to peace is what?
GOD.
Now you may say…well duh…J
But the truth is we seek peace in just about everything BUT GOD.
Money? Vacations? Sex? Meds? …you want me to continue…?
And then we wonder why when none of that delivers when scripture clearly says that the ONLY PLACE TRUE PEACE is found is in GOD!
2 John 1:3
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us intruth and love.
Here is the deal.
Oftentimes, our outer struggles and the chaos we experience in life are simply manifestations of the inner conflict that we feel when we stray from God’s path. Just as Jesus offers the ability to do the “impossible”, (Philippians 4:13), Jesus also offers us peace, not as the world gives, but as He alone gives. (Philippians 4:7)
Our challenge is to accept GOD’S peace and more importantly LEAN ON GOD’S PEACE when things in our life GO KAFLOOEY!
Because TRUST me, whether internally created or externally driven, LIFE WILL GO KAFLOOEY.
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
We will have tribulation, strife, unrest, and “unpeace”. But Jesus says PEACE IS IN HIM and we can MAINTAIN a good countenance and be of good cheer when we rely on THAT PEACE when the chaos comes.
“Peace begins with a smile..” Mother Teresa
So ask the question(s).
Is your life is more tribulation than tranquility?
Are you still rushing after the illusion of “peace and happiness” that the world promises but cannot deliver?
If so, claim the inner peace that is your spiritual birthright: the peace of Jesus Christ that flows from HIM and OUR Heavenly FATHER.
It is offered freely; it has been paid for in full; it is yours for the asking.
It will pass ALL understanding.
I bid you peace.
