Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
ARE YOU SEEKING?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Have you praised Him? Have you thanked Him?
Will you today?
I had the pleasure of attending the “NEXT STEP” this past Saturday. It is a wonderful meeting held on Saturday nights at the Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City. It is just a gathering of broken folks seeking GOD. In fact, I was introduced to Christ-centered recovery at the NEXT STEP.
On Saturday, a guest from Columbia International, David Olshine shared a practical discussion on prayer and the first point that he made regarding an effective prayer life and walk was the need for PRAISE!
Too often we make prayer all about the “laundry list” of needs, wants, desires. Instead our prayers ought to be more about honoring our GOD, expressing to GOD our desire to be used by Him and praising Him for just being WHO HE IS, GOD!
Psalm 100:4
New International Version (NIV)
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
Enter his gates, enter this day with what? Thanksgiving! Praise!
That is why I ask every DISPATHCH, have you thanked Him? Have you praised Him?
Because our GOD is worthy of ALL praise!
Psalm 96:4
Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
4 The LORD is great and worthy of praise.
I think we believe our praise has to be some elaborate show or in the context of some service or tradition. Just the contrary is true. We can express thanks and praise to GOD all day every day just by the “way we walk” and the “way we talk”, the way we pray, and the way we live.
Psalm 119:7
Common English Bible (CEB)
7 I will give thanks to you with a heart that does right
We can praise him with our day-to-day living … showing love for others with our actions, not just our words … being quick to forgive … trusting God and not walking in fear and worry … refusing to succumb to the compromising ways of the world … telling others what the Lord has done for us.
That’s praise! That’s thanksgiving!
So challenge yourself this morning to praise GOD with way you walk and talk. Show your gratitude for Him by expressing yourself and behaving in ways that honor Him, that reflect Him and let’s those around you know that GOD is in charge of your day.
Start here with me this morning!
Father, teach me to have an attitude of praise and gratitude throughout this day. Help me to praise and honor you in my attitudes … my relationships …and my actions. In Jesus’ name
I love you all.
Have a blessed day.
