Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Is it time to make a change or two? Maybe three?
I mean in recovery we ask people to “change everything”. Really we do!
And on our own, it is impossible. But with GOD’s help we can! It starts with "recognition and return."
What do I mean?
Realize when things are off-kilter and off track (recognize) and then return…
Acts 3:19 (MSG)
Turn to face God so he can wipe away your sins, pour out showers of blessing to refresh you…
I love that verse! There is GOD who totally knows what sins we have committed and instead of making us fearful to where we would want to run away, He asks us to run to Him so that He, through Christ, can wipe the sins away!
Instead of rejection, He offers refreshment! RESCUE!
Colossians 1:13-14
God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.
So you say you sinned huh? Me too.
Don't glorify it.
Now is as good time as any to own it, take it serious and bring it to Jesus. Then thank Him for His wonderful mercy and grace and walk in HIS freedom.
Romans 6:17
…offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you’ve let sin tell you what to do. But thank God you’ve started listening to a new master, one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!
The FREEDOM NEVER QUITS!
Recently in a talk given by Pastor Mark here in Xenia, he reminded the Sunday crowd that once we ACCEPT GOD, access to HIS FREEDOM and the assurance of HIS salvation NEVER QUITS!
I for one am grateful for that promise!
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
But we have to embrace the back half of that verse as HEARTILY as the first. Salvation is assured but daily WE must put down the FLESH and be more SPIRIT-led.
And that starts by admitting and OWNING our sin, returning to Him, listening and responding to Him as our Master and grabbing the FREEDOM with both hands.
My hands are open. Yours?
I love you all
Be blessed!
