Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again
We are Humpty. And I am sure we know a Humpty.
Work with me for a second.
I was with a fellow named Bob V. yesterday. If you want to get to know him a little better, check out here… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Vogel
We were sharing ministry together yesterday in Columbus . He is passionate about prison ministry and helping men find traction and hope when they leave incarceration. He also is motivated to join the fight against opiate addiction.
And as we got to know one another, as we shared our hearts and experiences, we were able to edify each other. It was a great conversation. I feel as if I have made an important kingdom connection and look forward to more discussions in the future.
But it was as we were discussing the topic of “brokenness” that he shared a time in his life that the LORD reminded him of this little nursery rhyme. He shared a time in his life when he broke his mother’s favorite vase and while he could GLUE it, it would always show the damage.
He then remarked that as he was working with some of the most broken folks in his ministry realm and was completely flummoxed. His capacity to help them heal and deal with their brokenness had exceeded its measure. He was frustrated. He was considering throwing in the towel and in a time of fervent prayer he was completely surprised that the LORD decided this was the WORD he needed.
But step away from the familiarity for a second and soak in the profundity.
All of us fall.
All of us are broken folks.
Many will try their best to fix us.
Many will leverage their resources, their riches, their intelligence and their resources to “put things back together” but while they may provide a little glue they can’t completely put it all back together without any evidence of brokenness.
Only GOD can completely heal the broken to where the evidence is gone. Only GOD can completely make what was damaged as good as new.
…if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person alTOGETHER—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing… (2 Corinthians 5:17 Phillips)
King’s horses can try.
King’s men can give their best effort.
But only GOD can make the damaged and the broken TOTALLY and completely new. And He has promised He will if we trust Him.
He is a "King" who can!
1 Peter 5:10 (TLB)
After you have suffered a little while, our God, who is full of kindness …. (will) personally will come and pick you up, and set you firmly in place, and make you stronger than ever.
And completely put you together again.
I love you ALL!
