ESCAPE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

I get this quite a bit.  Sometimes from the fella in the mirror.

“The odds and the tables are stacked against me.
The challenge is too much.  The temptation too great!
I am too far gone to resist this time.
Maybe you can, but I am not you.
The pull of “IT” is too much!
There is no escaping this!”

Is that you today?
Are you one of those who has called, messaged or texted me recently?
Are you one of those recently overwhelmed by the temptation to succumb, throw in the towel, give up, or quit?
Are you one who is looking for that escape, the RIGHT way out?

GOD has provided one.

He has.  There is a way out.  There is a solution.  There is a way to overcome.  And it starts with trusting GOD and taking Him at His Word.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13

Did you catch that?  In spite of those temptations, that by the way are NOT more than you or I can handle, GOD always provides a WAY of escape.

Always.

Dr. David Jeremiah shared this in his Turning Point today:

If you do an Internet search for the phrase, “I couldn’t see any way out” in the current news media, you will find a myriad of stories. It’s amazing how many “hopeless” situations people find themselves in. Unfortunately, that pessimistic view is sometimes used as an excuse for yielding to temptation: “I couldn’t see any way out.”

Viewing temptation that way ignores two things. First, with God nothing is impossible (Luke 18:27). Second, when it comes to temptation, God promises to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

That puts the proverbial ball in our court; it is our task to look for the way of escape when faced with a temptation that seems too difficult to deny. When Paul wrote about “the way of escape,” he applied it to sins like idolatry, sexual immorality, secular involvements, grumbling, and testing God (1 Corinthians 10:6-10). So we know “the way” applies to our temptations as well.

When you are tempted to sin, look for the way of escape.
Finding it is not usually the problem; taking it is.

So the question for today is an easy one.

Are you being faced with overwhelming temptation today?
GOD has provided the way of escape.
He promised.

There is nothing that can overwhelm Him, nothing that He has not provided a solution or an escape for others. He will help YOU today.

The key is being diligent to uncover the escape route and then being wise enough to take it!
Sounds like it is time to trust.

“Trust is both an attitude and an action. Your first small step must be followed by another, and another, until you realize that God has indeed made a way for you to know him personally. The more you act on your faith in God, the more you will see of HIS WAY for you.” ― Henry Cloud

I love you all
