HOLD ON PAIN ENDS

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

H.O.P.E. (Hold On, Pain Ends)

Part of my job as a collaboration officer is well, to collaborate. (lol)

For someone to effectively recover from the oppression and brain disease that is addiction, many hands do truly help.  And one of the things I am very passionate about is OPENING EVERY possible door for someone who desires and is willing to pursue recovery.

For my experience and the evidence has confirmed that in order for someone to truly recover from challenge of addiction a “system and community of wellness and care” is needed.

And often included in that system are doctors, counselors, Pastors, friends, family, facilities, service opportunities and fellowships.  Not to mention for some things like oils, yoga, exercise, prayer, and fasting have been instrumental.

So I am always on the lookout and in collaborative talks with others who share my passion for the addicted individual and who are willing to offer their best practices to this ever advancing and ever evolving system of care.

So yesterday I spent some time with a couple of sober living alternatives for men and with the founder and CEO of a medically focused facility whose tagline is “a safe place to recover”.

And as I toured this “safe place” yesterday and as we were walking through the halls where the recovering clients reside, there were lots of positive statements pasted on the walls.

Encouragements to take things one day at time, that “people do recover” and this one that said “HOPE – Hold On Pain Ends”.

Ironically or divinely that was actually posted above the heads of two lovely parents from Mason who stopped me in the hall to talk about their son.

I must have looked like I worked there.

But what they shared was no different than what I hear from our parents who are bringing men to the REFUGE.

They were tired and in pain.

And while they were hopeful, they were wondering if this was really the time their son would “get it”, would this be the place where he would finally begin to heal and their collective pain would end?

I was encouraged because they were willing to HOLD ON one more time in HOPE that the pain for their son and them would end.

Truth is their son was very ill.  And this new partner does offer the medical care he most certainly needed and the door of opportunity to begin his recovery journey.  I am in prayer for M and his mom and dad today; praying that they will HOLD on for the pain will end for it will.

Jesus promised.

In this world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world!” – John 16:33 (ERV)

And I was reminded when I saw that little poster and after chatting with those dear parents for that hour of a song we shared in choir a few years ago.

The journey's been rough,
Lord, knows it's been tough, but you're still here.
Friends turn their backs and walk away left you without much to say, but you're still here.

God's going to do everything He promised.
Said, the Lord is going to do everything that He promised you.
God is going to do everything He promised, in just a few days you're going to see Him make a way out of no way for you.

The battles been long, but through it all you've been made strong and you're still here.
You didn't think you'll make it through your night, it's a wonder how you survived, but you're still here.

God's gonna do everything He promised,
Said, the Lord's going to do what He promised.
God's gonna do everything He promised, in just a few days you're going to see Him make a way, you're gonna see Him make a way...

The God we serve is no liar, He is a promise keeper; so get ready for your breakthrough, 'cause God is gonna bless you.
They that sow in tears, they're gonna one day reap in joy.

Get ready, get ready, get ready it's harvest time. (Galatians 6:9 (AMP) Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.)

Are you ready, are you ready to receive what God promised us?
Keep praying, keep praying, keep praying 'til you see God.
Keep hanging on, keep holding on to your promises, don't let go.
He will do it, He will do it,
He will do it 'cause He promised it.
Don't give up, don't let go, what He promised, He will perform.
Don't give up, don't let go,
He will do it 'cause He promised it.
Don't give up, go all the way, you're almost there. – Dorinda Clark Cole

Maybe you are in the middle of a painful time like my mom, dad and son.  Be encouraged by the promises of GOD and that simple little poster.

HOLD on!
Pain does end!
…the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes [giving them eternal comfort].” – Revelation 7:17 (AMP)

I love you all
