GOD SPEAKS

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

“It is dangerous for us to allow our difficulties to reside in the forefront of our thinking. Rather, our focus should always remain on our matchless God, who can triumph over any trouble we bring to Him.

God speaks to you and me through every situation, but hearing Him is dependent upon our anticipating and paying attention to His instruction.

Regardless of the circumstances we experience, we know God is teaching us something, and we will intentionally and eagerly learn and apply whatever it is. – Charles Stanley

I have been talking a lot about this lately; focusing on the Father.  But I think it bears revisiting.  Charles reveals a powerful truth in his book the “The Ultimate Conversation” when he says, “GOD speaks to you and me through EVERY situation”.

Think about that for a second.
GOD is speaking to you and I in EVERYTHING?
WOW!

How do we know that?
Like that old Sunday School song says, “the Bible tells me so”!
GOD is IN everything!
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? - Psalm 139:7 (NASB)

So if GOD is omnipresent and is pursuing us with such fervor that He is using every circumstance of life to engage us, why don’t we engage, why don’t we learn?
Why don’t we apply?
Why don’t we focus?
It is a good question.

Sometimes it is pride.
Sometimes it is apathy.
Sometimes it is distraction or perceived busyness.

Yet the fact remains, we can’t escape the presence of GOD and why would we want to?

He has the power to help us through the circumstances that are challenging us.
He has the foresight and wisdom to put us on the right path at all times and for all things.
He has “quite enough hope and quite enough power to chase away any gloom” – from the old song “In This Very Room”

So let’s pay attention.
Let’s not let circumstances distract us.
Let’s not try to set our own path.
Let’s not try to navigate today alone by thinking we are alone.
We are not!
Let’s be aware that GOD…
…is over all and through all and in all (Ephesians 4:6 NIV)

Let’s learn.
Let’s trust.
Let’s focus.

“You cannot fulfill God's purposes for your life while focusing on your own plans.”  ― Rick Warren
