NEXT RIGHT THING

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

“Do the NEXT right thing”.

Passaro adds to that little quote and says:

“Just do the next right thing. Then repeat indefinitely.”

I had the pleasure of sharing with a wonderful group of folks on Saturday at an equipping conference offered by the team at SAFE HARBOR.  Part of my responsibility was to encourage the attendees to move from the sidelines and find a place to help in the efforts against trafficking and addiction.

That is often best served by this little idea from Passaro; “do the NEXT RIGHT THING" and then repeat!

When we look at the problems of addiction and trafficking in our community and culture it is very easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer SIZE of the problem.

Yet if we can just maintain the mindset to do the “next right thing”; maybe volunteer for an hour or two a week, send a care basket to a ministry, make a small donation of time or treasure, it can and will make an immeasurable difference!

Not only to the work you choose to bless but in your life, as well!

So, what is the NEXT RIGHT THING for you today?

Got some bandwidth to serve a work?

How about calling the local sober house or shelter and see if they have any needs for staples?

Got a second to pray for the addicted and oppressed?

“Do what God’s teaching says; don’t just listen and do nothing. When you only sit, and listen, you are fooling yourselves. Hearing God’s teaching and doing nothing is like looking at your face in the mirror and doing nothing about what you saw. You go away and immediately forget how bad you looked. But when you look into God’s perfect law that sets people free, pay attention to it. If you do what it says, you will have God’s blessing. – James 1:22-26 (ERV)

Friends we HAVE been GIVEN MUCH!  

We have!

Grace, opportunity, unconditional love, mercy, truth, GOD’S WORD, GOD perfect PLANS.  It is time to DO something with them!

Let’s pay attention to the challenges around us.  

And then let’s do the NEXT RIGHT THING!
