GOD'S PURPOSE PREVAILS

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Hurray!
The inevitable “post-election” DISPATCH!
This is a first.
The DISPATCH has only been around since 2010 so this is the “inaugural”foray into this territory.
I keep most of my views about these things quiet. I aspire to a conservative frame of thought and action yet my ministry calls me to wade and work in the most liberal of environments every day.
Therefore daily I make the decision to do my best to operate obediently to the GOD who is in charge of both sides of the aisle and regardless whose name is on the Oval Office. Because at the end of the day that is the "prevailing plan".
Proverbs 19:21
We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails.
Now do I get that right all the time? Heavens no!
But what GOD does call us to do is love each other. Elephants and Donkeys alike.
That is it. And if we are doing that, it does not leave a whole lot of time for rhetoric.
Yet I will be truthful, I believe there are times when we make it hard to live up to a calling of loving others because we are so busy pontificating, bragging or bemoaning.
Yet in reality, GOD isn’t much for speechifying. He is more about “loveifying”.
You see whether RED or BLUE your brother is in this “with you” and GOD commands us to be agreeable. He will take care of the rest.
1 Peter 3:8-12
Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here’s what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you’re worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he’s asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things.
You see our call is to INDIVIDUALLY snub evil and cultivate good. To be peaceful even when ideology says conflict makes more sense. We are to follow GOD’s lead and not get overly riled up or distracted over the decisions of “the boys and girls in the DISTRICT”.
Psalm 146:3-9
Don’t put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life. Mere humans don’t have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them. Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in GOD and know real blessing! GOD made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it. He always does what he says— he defends the wronged, he feeds the hungry. GOD frees prisoners— he gives sight to the blind, he lifts up the fallen. GOD loves good people, protects strangers, takes the side of orphans and widows, but makes short work of the wicked.
So today whether you are reveling or reeling, hold tight to the truth that we are victorious Christians with a calling to live and share Him in all we do AND say.
RED or BLUE.
2 Corinthians 2:14
…Christ always leads us in triumph ...
That you can be sure of.
Have a great day!
I love you all.
