THANKSGIVING

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Who would have thunk it?

Really, over 180 folks from 180 different backgrounds, circumstances, and life journeys coming together in a single circle to thank GOD for provision, hope, and recovery?

Really, who could have thunk it?

GOD…

Ephesians 3:20

GOD can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Man was that ever the case last night.

Thanksgiving dinner has become a very special event for our FREEDOM ministry in Xenia.  2009 around 40 of us shared in a meal and a small thanksgiving prayer and share time. 2010 a skosh under 80 joined our hands and hearts in thanksgiving. 2011 140 or so.

But it isn’t about the numbers.  It really isn’t.  It is about the blessing. When we acknowledge GOD, when we thank Him, He pours out blessing from Himself just as scripture promises.  GOD loves a thankful heart.

2 Corinthians 4:15

…As more people receive God’s favor, they will give thanks for the shining-greatness of God

So the message today is simple.  Let’s continue the momentum of FREEDOM last night and just simply thank GOD.

He is a good GOD.

Ephesians 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.

Walk outside and take a deep breath and thank Him for the air in your lungs.

Pause over that breakfast muffin or that bowl of cereal and thank Him for provision.

Stop and thank Him for life, for freedom, for hope and for opportunity.

Thank Him for your future.

Psalm 118:21-25

Thank you for responding to me; you’ve truly become my salvation! …we rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it… let’s celebrate and be festive!

Salvation now, GOD. Salvation now! Oh yes, GOD—a free and full life!

Have a great day!

I love you all.
