FLAWED FELLOWSHIP

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Ever have those times where GOD feels so close that you know if you just squinted you could see HIM in the room with you? And on the contrary have you had those times in your life where you feel like He lost track of you and is so far away? I know I have. In fact I experienced both such feelings inside the course of 8 hours yesterday; going from spiritually high to low in what seemed a matter of minutes.
But did you know who was in charge of those feelings? Me.
It is true.
And if you have experienced similar moments and feelings, you are in charge of those as well.
For GOD’S love for us never changes. That is truth.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Psalm 103:11
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love
And if that is the case, we must be the problem when we are feeling distant from GOD. Otherwise how do you explain days where His love and presence seem so near and others where GOD feels miles away? It must be us. It sure isn't GOD. And I think I know the culprit.
Our sin.
For it is unmistakeable and true! GOD IS steadfast! GOD is consistent, loyal, and solid.
Sadly…WE are not.
So when we feel closeness to GOD it is likely we are walking in obedience with Him, likely we are in tune with His direction and path for us and our lives. When we stray or let sin have it's way, we create distance between us and GOD. We create a "flaw in our fellowship" Him and that is when He feels so far from us.
The wonderful news is that WE have an open and continuous opportunity to return to that closeness; to FIX THE FLAW!
Regardless of how FAR we have chosen to stray from HIS path, to remove ourselves from His love and protection, GOD is always there with open arms and a willing heart to receive us back into that close fellowship with HIM!
Zechariah 1:3
So tell them, ‘The Lord of All says, “Return to Me, that I may return to you.
Psalm 18:21
…When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start.
I think many times we are quick to ask the question, “Where are you GOD” when things are going sour for us or when we are feeling at distance from Him. But we should instead be taking a hard look at ourselves and uncover honestly what WE are doing to create the rift between us and GOD.
Remember:
Romans 8:38
...nothing can keep us from the love of God.
Today if you are sensing a flaw in your fellowship with GOD, FIX IT. It really is quite simple. Examine your heart, confess your sin and when you open your eyes, fellowship will be restored! That is a promise!
James 4:8
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you…
Praying for a great day of fellowship for you!
I love you all!
