HONOR HIM

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Had the chance to share a little message with my friends at FREEDOM last night entitled “Start with the Finish”.It took a look at the Lord’s Prayer, a staple at the end of recovery meetings, as a rock solid way to START a day as well as END a meeting.
One of the points touched on the whole “HALLOWED BE THY NAME” phrase. That HALLOWED word can be a bit “biblely” for some. But it really is much simpler than it sounds.
When Jesus offered us the model prayer in Matthew 6, when He said HALLOWED, He simply wanted us to always FIRST HONOR the sovereignty of GOD.
First thing! Before getting into any of the requests or other issues of prayer, we were to HONOR GOD’S “GODNESS”.
Revelation 4:11
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."Why?
Jesus fully understood the “power of priority.”
He knew that when we placed GOD first in all things, acknowledged HIM at the start of each day, it would serve to tune our minds and spirits toward GOD. And if we have GOD at the forefront of our minds, it would open the door for GOD to direct our thoughts and lead our paths!
Proverbs 3:6
…In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
So why not listen to JESUS? Why not take this rock solid instruction? Let's do it!
Put down your coffee or set aside that little energy bar and clear your mind.
Let’s pause and honor GOD. Use that little handy passage from Revelation if you would like!
But before the phone starts ringing or we start getting pulled in 100 different directions, let’s let GOD have first place, HIS rightful place in our thoughts and mind!
Acknowledge Him! Honor Him!
Done?GOD have first place, the place of honor in your thoughts and heart?
Now clear your mind and spirit of all that doesn’t honor Him so GOD can prep you fully.
2 Timothy 2:21 ESV
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
And let’s all move forward with a day that will honor GOD!
1 Corinthians 10:31
…whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God.
Hallowed BE HIS NAME!
I love you all!
