GOD HAS WHAT IT TAKES - 9.2.2014

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Psalm 40:17 (MSG)
But all who are hunting for you—
oh, let them sing and be happy.
Let those who know what you’re all about
tell the world you’re great and not quitting.
And me? I’m a mess. I’m nothing and have nothing:
    make something of me.
You can do it; you’ve got what it takes—
but God, don’t put it off.

Ever felt like the Psalmist?
Felt like “others” seem to be “seeing GOD, feeling GOD, experiencing GOD, and sensing GOD” when you are not so much.

GOD seem distant from YOUR MESS?
And while you don’t want others to lament in your pain you would like to “have a little of what they are having”.

Nothing wrong with feeling that way.

All of have those times when GOD seems so far away or when we feel like we have little left in the tank and what little is there is isn’t all that great.

But I love what the Psalmist does here.
In spite of the mess he isn’t defeated!

No instead he pauses to LOOK AROUND at others to “reaffirm” that GOD is STILL doing wonderful and miraculous things. He keeps believing that GOD can “turn things around”!  In fact, he is completely ready for a miracle!

And why is that?
Because while the mess can seem "mountain-ness" and the troubles difficult, GOD can and will turn it around!  The Psalmist even shows us how!

Just ASK!

John 16:23,24 (MSG)

This is what I want you to do:…Ask in my name, according to my will, and he’ll (GOD) most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!

How about that for a promise!

Far too many times we LAMENT our messes rather than looking past them for the HOPE and PROMISE that is in CHRIST.  We need to be like this Psalmist; not content to be jealous of those who are currently hitting on all cylinders and not being settled with sadness or piled over by pity.  We need to continue to believe that GOD HAS WHAT IT TAKES!

He DOES!
And He is just waiting for the right time to turn burdens to blessings and challenges to cheers!  He is!  He promised!

Ephesians 3:20 (NCV)

With God’s power working in us, God CAN do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine.

And if we ask, HE will!
So GOD...
...make something of me. You can do it; you’ve got what it takes—

I love you all.
