Have you thanked Him?

It had been a while since I had a fellow asking to go to my partner the REFUGE (www.mensliveschanged.org).  We went yesterday. I always enjoy my time with the leaders and the men at this amazing work.  GOD is doing remarkable and trans-formative things there.

 

Yesterday alone there was a young man who had walked in an atheist who was now sharing his testimony of transformation and newness in Christ.

 

Another opened up to the group about a history of selfishness that was so pronounced that his family had all but abandoned him.  Now his family was being healed and they were welcoming him back into the fold.  His future had been transformed.

 

There was a multi-time felon sharing how his prospects, possibilities and hope had been renewed as well as a man who at one time had turned to anything to fill the void in his life (crack, heroin, meth, rubbing alcohol) now finding that void filled by the trans-formational hands of the Holy Spirit and his hard work to change.

 

Story after story.

Transformation after transformation.

And one COMMON DENOMINATOR

 

JESUS CHRIST.

 

The HOPE that is in CHRIST has the power to TRANSFORM even the most unlikely characters or seemingly impossible situations. If you don’t believe me, go with me on a Tuesday and I will introduce you to the real TRANSFORMER!

 

Michael Bay and his robots and cars pale in comparison to what GOD is doing to change and mold men who have been given up on, cast out, and almost forgotten into responsible and powerful instruments of HIS WORK, HIS GRACE and HIS HOPE!

 

What is truly stunning is that while many of the family and friends of these men stand slack-jawed in the face of their change, GOD, as Rick Warren points out, is not surprised!  GOD instilled in these men a special story and an unmistakable hope.  All they needed to do was trust HIM to reveal it!

 

GOD has the same for you today.  His grace is for you. His hope is for you.

 

You want to see your prospects, your mood, your view of this day ahead transformed?  Do as these men are doing every day.  Wake up to the indescribable hope and undeniable purpose in CHRIST and embrace it with both hands!
