ANGEL'S AMONG US

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

^1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

It was one of those “good ones”.

All FREEDOM nights are wonderful. If one person walks in the door on a Monday night seeking recovery and freedom then it is a wonderful night. But last night was something special.

Several years ago I walked up to the “counter” to see my “favorite” teller at the 5^th3^rd in our local Kroger. Yet instead of her infectious smile there was a quivering lip and eyes filled with tears. She was struggling. Life, choices, consequences, and years of hurts were bubbling to the surface in the most unlikely and to be honest unwanted of places.

She needed a friend. She needed an ear. She needed encouragement and hope. She needed something to change.

That day I invited her to our little “FREEDOM thing”. She questioned the invitation saying she didn’t have any “addiction” issues but even in spite of all kinds of roadblocks she made the effort and joined us on a Monday.

And then GOD opened the door to change. And life for ANGEL began to change.

It had nothing to do with FREEDOM or me, GOD encountered my “favorite little teller” and she could have never been more ready to walk through that door.

So she did. She let GOD have her.

Psalms 16:3

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

What happened next is truly miraculous; a story of the power of GOD’s hand and HIS overwhelming ability to deliver us.

Flash forward to today and from tears at the "counter" has emerged ANGEL, serving GOD, sharing a story of hope and encouragement and living life for Christ! Who was once a broken woman weighed down by a troubled and tormented past laden with poor choices and circumstances was now upright and blessed to overflowing!

Isaiah 61:3

…he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

A real angel has emerged! A message has been raised out of a mess!

ANGEL’S transformation confirms that from our most broken of moments, GOD can and will cobble together blessing and greatness if we step our in faith! For when we are at our weakest and most vulnerable, HE injects LIFE and HOPE!

2 Corinthians 12:9

My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness…

GOD has set “ANGEL” apart to be just that; an angel for others.

She is letting other girls know that GOD is a FATHER who can be trusted even when yours can’t be. She is shining example of when we take the first step, GOD will be there to meet us and walk with us the rest of the way!

Matthew 11:29

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

I am so blessed by the story of “ANGEL” and I pray that this little snippet has reminded you as it has me, that angels are truly among us.

All we need to do is stop at the “counter” long enough to find one.
