JUST A THOUGHT

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Quick question.
Where is your head?
Already on the job? Already marinating on all there is to do; all of those activities?
Or are you just trying to remember where the coffee is?
Or wishing you could cover up and go back to bed?
Before your thinking gets away from you, can I lend a hand? Offer a quick reset? I mean it is “just a thought” after all.
Instead of all of those "other thoughts" how about you…
Romans 12:2
…let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.
Now you would agree that is a better approach a better focus for your thoughts isn’t it?
The truth is that every action begins with a thought. Everything that you are “about to do” today starts in that pretty little head of yours.
It does!
In fact, Jesus said that a person's thoughts determine who that person is - they're that powerful. Therefore thoughts have enormous potential! They set and reset courses and begin movements of change!
So why not get them thinking about Jesus?
You see if you don't proactively and constantly renew your mind, your thoughts will default to your flesh; it is just our nature. That's why so many of us continue to struggle even after we accept Jesus or embrace a live of recovery. We let our flesh do the thinking instead of our spirits or we focus a little too much on activities (going to meetings, doing the church thing) and not enough time renewing our minds in CHRIST.
Jesus understood this struggle as well as the power of the “mind” and that is why He offered this direction. He said…
Matthew 22:37
...love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your MIND.
Notice the mind part?
Jesus said start each day by loving Him, seeking Him, focused on Him and listening for Him.
By doing so:
You allow Jesus to dictate the flow of your thoughts!
You bring your thoughts under Christ's control and open up yourself to experience the freedom He wants for you!
You allow your SPIRIT and not your flesh to set the course for the day!
Therefore:
Colossians 3:2-3
Keep your minds thinking about things in heaven. Do not think about things on the earth. 3 You are dead to the things of this world. Your new life is now hidden in God through Christ.
Sometimes this is all it takes to turn things around, to “freshen”the perspective, to open our hearts and minds to what Christ wants from us today. And more often than not that is all it takes to turn a potentially bad day into a day filled with possibility!
"Just a thought".
I love you all…
