SIN WIN?

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

^1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

What to do when SIN wins?

Tough question isn’t it?

I mean we didn’t wake up yesterday with the intent to sin. We didn’t wade into the day’s activities with SIN on the day planner or in our Smartphone calendar app did we?

No.

We didn’t wake up and say “Right after this delicious bagel or breakfast muffin, I need to get about the business of my sinning today!”

No.

But we sinned; maybe a little or maybe a bunch. I don’t know about you, but I know I did. I am not going to tell you if it was a little or a lot. I will say it was “enough”. I mean one is "enough".

But all kidding aside, here it is another day and what to do?

Well when “SIN WINS”, the first thing to do is “OWN THE SIN”. The devil didn’t make you do it. Sorry Flip Wilson for those of you old enough to catch that reference. Own the sin. You made the choice, the call, and the decision.

But by owning it you allow GOD to deal with it! And He will! Beautifully and amazingly I might add!

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Then craft a plan to keep from repeating it. Especially if it is one those tough “repeating”sins that seems to be a daily struggle.

Acts 3:19

Now it’s time to change your ways! Turn to face God so he can wipe away your sins, pour out showers of blessing to refresh you…

I love that verse! There is GOD who totally knows what sins we have committed and instead of making us fearful to where we would want to run away, He asks us to run to Him so that He, through Christ, can wipe the sins away! He wants to rescue us not blow us up!

Colossians 1:13-14

God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.

So you sinned huh?

Own it, take it serious and bring it to Jesus. Then thank Him for His wonderful mercy and grace and walk in HIS freedom and steer clear of letting SIN WIN.

Romans 6:17

…offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you’ve let sin tell you what to do. But thank God you’ve started listening to a new master, one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!

And remember as hard as it may try, for the CHRISTIAN, Sin really WON'T EVER Win.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
