CLEANSING BLOOD

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

 

Nothing so dirty that the blood of Jesus can’t wash clean…Gaither

 

Or something close to that…

I was too busy listening to write it down verbatim.

 

Then he said it himself that there was no place too dark, nothing so dirty that GOD’S love and Jesus’ blood couldn’t clean it up.

 

Not homelessness.  He had been there

Not addiction. He had been there.

Not infidelity. He had been there and done that.

Not disappointment, mismanagement, or fakery. He knew those well.

 

Nope.

The BLOOD of Jesus can WASH all of it clean as newly fallen snow.

That is a fact. Not fiction.

1 John 1:7

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

 

GOD, in choosing the cleansing agent for our sins, chose the very best that He had, the blood of His own Son. It is by that, the precious blood of our Lord, that we are “cleaned up for good.”

Why?

 

Well “he” said that too. Because HE (GOD) loves us too much to leave us dirty.

…who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.  - Revelation 1:5

 

Who is “he”.

Michael English.

 

Had the chance to sit down and enjoy a summer evening with he, the Nelons and Jeff Stice Saturday.

 

Many of you know my “man-crush/bro-mance” with Michael.  I am unashamed to admit it.  His story had a vital part in my restoration and I am forever in his debt for being bold enough to let GOD clean him up.

 

Did you catch that?

“Being bold enough to LET GOD clean him up”

 

Far too many times when we struggle or are in the mess of life and sin we believe it is our performance; doing some good deeds, ushering at the church or tossing an extra dime or two in the plate as its passed or in the box in the back is needed to “restore” us to GOD.

 

Quite the contrary is true.

GOD took care of the cleaning.

GOD took care of the redeeming.

GOD took of the restoring.

 

And Michael and Bill both “knew it”.

So did this lyricist

 

“What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus”

 

Piper pointed it out this way…

“The only answer in these modern times, as in all other times, is the blood of Christ. When our conscience rises up and condemns us, where will we turn? We turn to Christ. We turn to the suffering and death of Christ—the blood of Christ. This is the only cleansing agent in the universe that can give the conscience relief in life and peace in death.”

 

Michael in his mess “returned for relief”  to the blood of CHRIST and He found peace and redemption. 

 

Maybe you are in a mess or have the last few days been “messy”?
