LEAKY

Have you thanked Him?

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Let me start today with a little apology.  Sorry for no OFH yesterday.  The schedule required a 4am wake up and 5am “on the road” yesterday to get to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia!  So, thank you to my faithful followers who checked on me to see if all was well!

As I said I headed to West Virginia yesterday for the first of 7 Attorney General sponsored gatherings of West Virginia Pastor’s and faith leaders focused on establishing their role in the current OPIATE CHALLENGE.

Sadly, West Virginia is in an equally bad spot as OHIO when it comes to the scourge.  Their overdose rate is just as bad, worse in the depressed and severely impoverished coal belt and up until recently, the CHURCH of West Virginia has been a bit flummoxed as to what to do about it. 

Now don’t get me wrong, some amazing work is underway and making a huge impact.

The West Virginia Council of Churches, High on Hope, Hope4All, New Life Ministry, and TryWV are a few who shared with us yesterday and they are touching and saving lives and offering KINGDOM-rich assistance, guidance, love, and hope!

But MUCH still needs to be done!  

And that is why I was so encouraged by the 160+ folks who gave up a full day to learn and link yesterday!

And yet it was while my dear friend TIM CRAFT was sharing his remarkable work at HIGH ON HOPE Ministries https://www.facebook.com/HighOnHopeMinistries/

I was inspired to today’s little OFH encouragement.

He quoted something he had gleaned from Pastor Bill Johnson, something to the effect that GOD had BLESSED him so much and filled him with SO MUCH (so much SPIRIT, love, hope, heart, passion, and compassion), that it was just natural that it must leak out; there was NOT enough room to hold it in!

So, Tim likes being leaky! 

Now you who are a little more devout followers of Bill might know that quote verbatim, but I pray that all get the truth of that! - we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! - Romans 5:5 (MSG)

The question is DO YOU feel that way today?

SO, BLESSED, SO FULL of the HOLY SPIRIT that your container is full?  And if that is the case, don’t you think you need to let some of it “leak out” on someone else? - pray that God will help you overflow with hope in him through the Holy Spirit’s power within you. – Romans 15:13 (LB)

Are you willing to pray that?  

To get a little leaky?

One of the things that impresses me most about my dear friend Tim is his unbridled energy.  He is TRULY HIGH on HOPE; it radiates off of him.  He is extra leaky!  And those who are hurting, those seeking a better way are intensely attracted to his leakiness.

But you see Tim’s portion of HOPE is not disproportionate to yours or mine.  We have ALL been given an OVERFLOWING measure of GOD’S SPIRIT.  He is not a respecter of PERSONS, Tim is not special, 

Tim just stays leaky.

The question is, will we?
