CHANGE IT UP

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Things gotten stale?
Has your time in GOD’S Word gotten a little “rote”?
Are you reading the Word but that is about it?
Grabbed the “Daily Bread” devotional and checked that box with a quick review?

Remember the Word of GOD is the only book that does a better job of “reading us” rather than us reading it.
It is organic. Alive.
The Word of GOD will speak to us if we read it with vigor and purpose.  Don't let time with it become stale or stagnant.

Yesterday as my friend Anna was sharing she spoke of a time in her life where she was feeling a little stale in her devotion and “bible time”.  It was then a good friend encouraged her to “change it up a little”.

She took that to heart and as a result the Word of GOD is vibrant again, speaking again, invigorating and instructing again.

Do you need to change things up a little?
Keep in mind that the enemy does NOT want you to be intentional or “fresh-minded” about your time in the Word.

He will even provide a little D-fence if we aren’t paying attention.
D-istractions
D-elays
D-isruptions
D-iversions

“We must allow the Word of God to confront us, to disturb our security, to undermine our complacency and to overthrow our patterns of thought and behavior.” ― John R.W. Stott

In other words as “we change it up a little” it is likely the Word of GOD will DO the same to us.  It will alter our thoughts and behaviors if we allow it, if we are intentional to glean from it.

Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. – 2 Timothy 2:16-17 (MSG)

So grasp the incredible and promised “newness” of GOD'S WORD today.
Don’t allow staleness to creep in.  Feeling complacent? Change the routine.  Pipe a little worship into the atmosphere as you pour over GOD’S Word today.  Need to get up a little earlier?  Maybe retire a little earlier to have a chance to reflect?

Never give way for your passion to drink from the cup of tiredness. – Ayiyor

For GOD wants you to remember this about His Word this morning…

Hebrews 4:12-13 (MSG)
… What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.

And it will “change things up”.

I love you all!
Be blessed!
