Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
..pray that he (GOD) will give you a spirit that will make you wise in the knowledge of God—the knowledge that he has shown you.
I pray that you will have greater understanding in your heart.
Then you will know the hope that God has chosen to give us. I pray that you will know that the blessings God has promised… Ephesians 1:17-18 (ESV)
Receive that prayer from Paul today!
I know I want to!
Pray today that:
GOD will give you a SPIRIT that DESIRES knowledge! For we know what happens when we lack it!
Hosea 4:6 (ESV) - people are destroyed for lack of knowledge
GOD desires to TEACH us daily, moment by moment even. Our job is to be ready and seeking as eager students. We are to view our challenges as opportunities for LEARNING and not for grumbling and complaining. And we are to see and experience our blessings as GOD’S object lessons of his goodness and love for us.
So are we ready to learn?
Are we ready to seek and assimilate the wisdom?
Are we ready to move the knowledge from head to heart which is crucial?
For often we can spout the knowledge or recite with great proficiency without it making a difference in our lives.
Paul goes on to stress how POWERFUL knowing GOD truly is.
It brings infinite and powerful hope.
It opens our eyes and spirits to the promises of GOD.
It changes our perspectives on problems.
It paves the way for blessing.
It sustains us.
So if we are not pursuing to know GOD, we run the risk of missing the lessons and notably the blessings.
Therefore:
“Let us occupy ourselves entirely in knowing God. The more we know Him, the more we will desire to know Him. As love increases with knowledge, the more we know God, the more we will truly love Him. We will learn to love Him equally in times of distress or in times of great joy.” - Lawrence
SO…
Look for wisdom (knowledge) like silver. Search for it like hidden treasure. If you do this, you will understand what it means to respect the Lord, and you will come to know God. The Lord is the source of wisdom; knowledge and understanding – Proverbs 2:4-6 (ERV)
“There is no peace like the peace of those whose minds are possessed with full assurance that they have known God, and God has known them, and that this relationship guarantees God’s favor to them in life, through death and on for ever.”
― J.I. Packer, Knowing God
I love you all!
