BE AN ENCOURAGER!

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

^1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up...

This life can be so deeply discouraging.

Job issues, family issues, old consequences that won’t seem to go away, painful memories, even failed relationships dot the mind-scape of so many.

And since my dear sister Kristi and I have been manning our new ministry THE JEREMIAH TREE, each day we have seen so many folks not just saddled with practical challenges and need, but weighed down immeasurably by discouragement.

If you don’t think the enemy spreads discouragement like a farmer spreads fertilizer, just take a morning and hang out with us at the “TREE”. The enemy is working overtime.

That is why it is so important for those of us in CHRIST to be encouragers as the verse above calls us to do!

And no it is not because life and circumstances are going along perfectly and blissfully for us. It doesn't.

It is because we have JESUS and HIS power alone is greater than any circumstance! And that power can dispel, diffuse and delete discouragement! Remember:

1 John 4:4

...you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory… because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

I think we forget that amazing truth and get enveloped by the fog of frustration and depression that tries to bring all of us down.

Children of GOD we must be better than that!

We have a calling to be light and hope to this dark and depressed place!

Matthew 5:16 ESV

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

And I know it is not easy!

And I know it may not be popular!

And I know you may not "feel" like it today!

And I know you may be going through something that is worse than your brother or sister.

But remember that truth! What is brewing inside of you, that amazing and endless energy of CHRIST himself, is there reminding you time after time,through discouragement after discouragement, to remain encouraged! for you are AN OVERCOMER, a VICTOR, and a CONQUEROR!

Romans 8:37

…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

So if you are down-hearted today, perk up!

Encourage yourself in the LORD. Look UPnot down. Seek His face this morning. Let Him infuse and energize you today!

Then pass it on! Be an encourager!

Romans 15:5

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had…
