REFUGE!

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
I am getting ready to head to THE REFUGE (http://www.mensliveschanged.org/) today.
Now I know I talk about my brother Tom’s ministry often in the DISPATCH but there is good reason.
It is an anointed work. It is the Kingdom of GOD in action. The REFUGE is different people, different pieces, different personalities and different talents all meshing together in one harmonious effort to introduce and win souls to Christ. Some may call it unorthodox while others may find it really “out of the box”, but regardless what you may call it, the REFUGE embodies its name.
REFUGE - anything to which one has recourse for aid; shelter or protection from danger, trouble…
And while the REFUGE is all of those things, an aid station, a protective and accountable environment for men seeking change and purpose, the team at the REFUGE understand that GOD, GOD HIMSELF is our REFUGE. TThey understand that the REFUGE is not limited to a space or ministry. Rather GOD has made it clear that HE is our REFUGE.
Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
And while I pray today that “the REFUGE” will offer the aid, shelter and new opportunities for my brother, GOD makes it clear that HE is always there, ready and willing to be OUR REFUGE when life roars and foams or when fear shakes us to our core.
In fact GOD has carved a special place within Himself designed specifically for us where we can retreat when we are overwhelmed and in need of some kind of escape.
Psalm 9:9-10
The LORD is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you…
Every day I encounter folks who are desperately seeking refuge. Their troubles have led them to find relief and aid in substances, damaged relationships and fleeting enjoyments.
All the while there is GOD reminding each of us over and over again that HE is that shelter, that HE is that ever-present help, that HE is that rock and deliverer, that HE IS that REFUGE!
Perhaps you are being shaken to your core today. Maybe there is way more month than money right now, maybe that relationship is fraying at the seams, or maybe the stressors of life have you brow-beaten and tired.
Retreat to GOD.
Psalm 61:2
…when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for you GOD are my safe refuge…
Find that needed shelter, peace and aid from our REFUGE, GOD Himself.
I love you all!
