CLEAR AIR

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“You messed up yesterday. But you’ll mess up more if you let yesterday’s mistakes sabotage today’s attitude. God’s mercies are new every morning. Receive them."
Max Lucado
I love that quote. I am not quite sure how Max knew I messed up yesterday or how he knew I might let those failings bleed over into today. It is a little eerie. But regardless of the source of his INTEL, he is right about me.
And something tells me he might have been watching you too. Has he got a bead on you too?
Truth is we all messed up yesterday. GOD confirms it.
Romans 3:23
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard…
Yet what is more crucial is what did we learn from yesterday’s bobbles and are we going to emerge today unscathed, upbeat and ready for action?
Are we?
How you ask?
By putting yesterday behind us and embracing the mercy and possibilities of today!
And how is that possible you ask?
GRACE!
Romans 8:2
…A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime…
We have been freed from the fate of yesterday's mess. The strong wind has come through and the air is clear. Mercy is new.
Yesterday at the Jeremiah Tree I was sitting with a young man who was devastated by a "bad yesterday".
He had strung several days of abstinence from a crack cocaine challenge only to relapse and go on a ill-fated binge.
He was bleak. He was certain that today was already ruined because of yesterday's failure.
I asked him to pause and really focus on that scripture from Romans 8.
Yes, while he did make of mess of his “yesterday”, thanks to Calvary he wasn’t bound nor condemned by it.
He wasn't.
None of us are.
The grace found at THE CROSS clears yesterday's messes and resets today’s table. Pure and simple. Black and white.
In short none of our yesterdays have any say in our “today’s.” Why?
1 Corinthians 4:16
…not a day goes by without his unfolding grace…
Every day is washed in grace. Yes even that messed up yesterday.
So let’s breathe in that clear air this morning and embrace TODAY'S unfolding grace!
“We have this moment to hold in our hands and to touch as it slips through our fingers like sand; Yesterday's gone and tomorrow may never come, But we have this moment today.”
Gloria Gaither
Let’s make the most of it.
I love you all!
Have a blessed weekend.
