AHEAD OF THE GAME

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
I heard a good quote over the weekend.
“You are ahead of the game because you both know to put GOD first.”
These words of encouragement were shared by the father of the groom at a wedding I attending over the weekend; a wedding that opened with a time of worship no less.
This couple truly was “ahead of the game” as their wedding reflected the good counsel given by dad. Like I said it opened in praise to the one who had brought them together and to the one who was at the head of their marriage, GOD. It was refreshing to witness a couple so young in years, yet so clear about their priorities. They were committed to making GOD first and even their “big day” had to take second place.
It is a good example and wonderful guidance for all of us as we embark on another week. And while the message is not anything that many of you haven’t heard before, it does bear repeating and embracing.
Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Why? Because this world does play games with us by doing its best to wrestle priority away from GOD with all sorts of tactics:
Distraction.
Division.
Distortion.
Deception.
…not to mention things like busyness and pressure. So it is good to be reminded to seek GOD first and get ahead of the enemy's games.
The father of the groom couldn't have been more on point.
When we focus on keeping GOD first in our lives, the Lord promises all of these “other” things; job, family, direction, finances, marriages and the like will be ADDED to us. In other words HE will take care of them.
Never forget GOD wants to bless us, wants to direct us and wants to protect us.
He loves us.
All He asks is that we acknowledge and submit to His sovereignty and His wisdom and He promises to keep us "ahead of the game"!
Psalm 119:2
You’re blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him.
Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
So let’s do that!
Let’s commit to putting GOD first!
Let’s give GOD His preferred and rightful place at the head of our days and lives. Let’s decide to acknowledge His sovereignty and wisdom in all things that we do or decide.
Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
And let’s get ahead of the game!
I love you all!
