WORK? NO WORSHIP...

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it yourpriority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deepbreath and listened for what He has for you
today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you
knowhow, for everyone you know.

1 Corinthians 15:58

...Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know thatnothing
you do for the Lord is ever useless.

I get it.

Sometimes you try and try and see no results.

Or you help and it goes unappreciated. Or worse yet someone takes
advantage of yourhelp and we all know how badly that hurts.

But it is crucial that you keep helping. Keep loving. Keep serving
others. Keep working for the LORD.

Why?

Because GOD sees all of it and none of those efforts go to waste!

…nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

But I totally understand.

It is easy to get discouraged when our efforts to help arerebuffed,
ignored or misused. We alllove a little pat on the back or an
“attaboy” for our time and effort and oursaddened when we learn our
effort was exploited or discounted. But Paul reminds us that whenwe are
working as GOD’s hands and feet that we are to do so enthusiastically
knowingthat GOD is taking note and is pleased with our efforts!

The writer of Hebrews concurs.

Hebrews 13:16 (ERV)

...don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with
others, because sacrifices like these are very pleasing to God.

That is why we must keep in mind that our primary job as Christiansand
followers of Christ is to bring glory to the Lord with our lives. It
truly isn’t about us or even those we arehelping at all.

Our work is UNTO Him, FOR Him and BECAUSE of Him.

That is important to consider when we are lending a hand to one inneed
or pitching in on the big church outreach or project; to make sure that
GOD,not us, is the one who is honored!

1 Peter 4:11

…Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing themaround
so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it
beGod’s hearty help. That way, GOD’s BRIGHT PRESENCE will be evident in
everythingthrough Jesus, and HE’LL GET ALL THE CREDIT as the One mighty
in everything…

Catch that? GOD gets all the credit!

That is why the enemy tries to twist our thinking when it comes
to“working or serving the LORD.” He attemptsto makes us think we need
to do it to secure our salvation; that we areobligated to GOD. He
tries to tweak our prideand self-centered nature so that we make our
work all about us. Why?

He hates it when GOD is glorified.

That is why we must make a cognitive effort to remember our workunto
the LORD is all about the LORD; that it is an offering to Him! It is
our chance to SHOW GOD how grateful we are for ALL that Hehas done for
us!

Simply put, our work is an act worship and amazingly GOD is quick to
rewardus when that is the case!

Mark 9:41

If anyone so much as gives you a cup of water because you areChrist’s—I
say this solemnly—he won’t lose his reward.

So let’s keep up the good work friends!

Be ENTHUSIATIC as your serveand assist those around you.

Don’t allow the responses of others or your own pride keep you
fromworking for the LORD.

Instead…

2 Timothy 2:15

Make every effort to give yourself to God as the kind of person hewill
approve…

…and worship Him today with your work!

I love you all!
