TIME TO SHARE

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

^1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Here it is, December 2013. Beth commented as we were getting ready to start sifting through all the Christmas decorations and tree ornaments, “Didn’t we just take the TREE down?”

She has a point. Time sure does fly.

As a kid, I never really believed all those older people in my life that said the years would get shorter. But they weren’t lying. Somewhere at about 40ish, someone pushed the accelerator on life and my days and weeks seem to be going by quickly like the landscape on a high speed train.

But I am not here to lament my middle-agedness today, rather to build a little on what Pastor shared yesterday at AHOP because time is indeed short.

This season is a wonderful opportunity for those of us “in the faith” to “SHARE our faith”. Hearts and minds tend to soften when the holiday tunes are permeating the air. And if you wade past the shopping rush and the wrestling at WAL-MART a more “SHARING” tone has taken over with most folks.

So the question is, “Are you making the most of this softened season?”

Are you ready to capitalize on the potential opportunity created in this “season of sharing” to share Jesus with those around you?

I hope so!

So does GOD!

Romans 13:11-14

But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. …Be up and awake to what God is doing! … We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours …Get out of bed and get dressed! …Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!

There is some sharing to do!

Ask yourself today, “Am I capitalizing on the opportunities GOD is giving me to share His hope?” “Am I embracing the trust that GOD is giving me to share Him with those around me?”

Never forget friends, GOD has entrusted each of us to be His hands and feet, to be His communicators; to share His message and His hope to the world around us. Each day we have to be ready to embrace that challenge and do our best to share Jesus!

I shared this little quote a few DISPATCH’S back, but it bears repeating…

"Christ has no body on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion for the world is to look out; yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good; and yours are the hands with which He is to bless us now." ~Saint Teresa of Avila

The bottom line is that regardless of season, GOD has called each of us to reach out to others and draw them closer to Him! We are HIS REPRESENTATIVES!

2 Corinthians 5:18

God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives.

The question is are you up for the challenge; are you READY NOW, BELIEVING for today’s OPPORTUNITY to SHARE the hope and joy of CHRISTMAS, Jesus Christ?

I pray that you are! Tis the season to be sharing!
