FOLLOW HIS WILL

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

My good friend Amy who I spoke of earlier this week is VERY intentional about seeking the WILL of GOD in ALL things; ministry, parenting, being a good wife, a good leader, and a faithful follower.

 

She follows some very simple guidelines I shared some weeks ago in the OFH. 

She allows herself the opportunity to QUIETLY TRUST GOD, to put aside any of her own predispositions and agenda and allow for “indifference” or what I would call deference to the HOLY SPIRIT to provide direction and the days agenda. 

Knowing…

The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us…

1 Corinthians 12:7 (LB)

 

And then she seeks the WISDOM and DIRECTION of GOD and allows it priority knowing…he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to. – Matthew 6:33 (LB)

 

But let’s take a second and go back to what Dr. Jeremiah has for us today. 

Have you ever learned something one day only to NEED it the next?

That happens to me quite often.

Often what I shared on this little blog in the morning is exactly the Word or direction that I will need later that same day.  

Ever happen to you?

 

But I think we can take Dr. Jeremiah’s observation a little further.

 

How AWESOME it is to experience GOD so deeply and richly that ALL the things we are encountering has purpose, meaning and relevance.  How amazing it is to know that when we can come into alignment with GOD’s will for us, no motion is wasted, no conversation void of significance, no interaction useless.

 

WOW!

 

The truth is that when we are INTENTIONAL about seeking GOD because HE is already DEEPLY intentional in HIS seeking of us (thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. – Ezekial 34:11 NIV) the benefits and the intimacy are intensely rewarding and amazing educational.

 

Swindoll once remarked,

“The Lord never hides His will from us. In time, as you obey the call first to follow, your destiny will unfold before you. The difficulty will lie in keeping other concerns from diverting your attention.”

 

So here is the little encouragement for today.

Wake up.

Seek FIRST the WILL of GOD for you for today.

Clear your mind of agenda and distraction.

Quietly trust GOD’s best over any of your preconceived options.

And then PAY ATTENTION. knowing that if you are striding in and with the WILL of GOD today, what you are about to learn and experience will be forever significant!
