MOST OF TIME

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Psalm 39:4-5 (TLB)
Lord, help me to realize how brief my time on earth will be.
Help me to know that I am here for but a moment more.
My life is no longer than my hand!
My whole lifetime is but a moment to you.

I am writing from Ft. Worth Texas today.

Taking a little “combo trip” with part of the family. A little work, a little play.
Sadly, Hillary and Cam couldn’t make the trip, but the rest of the Delaney crew is here.  And we are being blessed immeasurably because we are with our dear friends the Morris’ while here and they are some of the best folks on the planet.  Later this week we convene for a wedding in San Antonio with some MORE dear friends.

More to come on that as it approaches.

But the reason for today’s scripture at the outset was it was referenced in yesterday’s sermon presentation at Life Church here in Ft. Worth.  If you aren’t familiar with Life Church, go here. https://www.life.church/

It is the largest church in the U.S. spanning 27 campus’ and touching thousands each week.  And yesterday’s sermon was a part of what they call “AT THE MOVIES” month. It is an outreach designed to entice folks into the church by sharing BIBLICAL application gleaned from recent motion pictures.  And yesterday was no exception as Pastor wove a powerful message about Love, Time, and Death.

And while the entire sermon/presentation was moving and powerful, I was particularly struck by the interaction with TIME.

The movie is Collateral Beauty and though panned a little by the critics and skeptics, the clip shared with Will Smith and the actor representing TIME was particularly jarring.

If you don’t know the story, Will Smith’s character is grieving the loss of his daughter to cancer.  And he is ANGRY with “TIME” for not giving him enough of it with his little girl.  And yet TIME turns the tables a little and ADMONISHES will for NOT leveraging the MOST of it now.  In other words, TIME say don’t WASTE him!

I was a little taken aback by that.

But David during a time of lamenting reminds us in that PSALM that our TIME is short and hence it NEEDS to be cherished, appreciated, leveraged, explored, and exhausted.
We need to make the most of it!

So, the question today is a simple one.
Are YOU making the MOST of TIME?
We must!

Live life, then, with a due sense of responsibility, not as THOSE who do not know the meaning and purpose of life but as those who do. Make the best use of your time, despite all the difficulties of these days. Don’t be vague but firmly grasp what you know to be the will of God. - Ephesians 5:15-16 (PH)

Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God – Colossians 3:23(MSG)

Pause for a second before you rush in to today.
Thank GOD for your time today.
Ask Him how you can best apply it!
Ask Him how you can responsibly leverage for HIS will.
Don’t take it for granted!
Remember…you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
James 4:14 (ESV)

Let’s make the MOST of our time today for GOD and WITH GOD!

I love you all.
