Little Red Riding "BUGS"

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
ARE YOU SEEKING?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
My boy is a bit of a chip off the old block about some things; never more so than in our love for cartoons. I can remember as a kid laying on the bed on Saturday’s and just cracking up to Bugs Bunny and watching Wile E. Coyote take a beating at the hands of the Road Runner.
Still do...:)
I will catch Ian from time to time just cackling away at Wile E. taking an anvil to the head or falling off a cliff. It warms my silly cartoon soul.
But do you remember when they would have cartoons that retold the old fairy tales; stories like the 3 little pigs, Hansel and Gretel, etc? Do you remember the cartoon spin on Little Red Riding Hood where the wolf would dress up on grandma’s nightgown and wait for Little Red Riding “BUGS”at the cottage and then all of Bug’s hi-jinks would begin?
Now if you have already rolled your eyes and said Delaney has lost it this morning, hang with me. I want you to think about that little story of Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. The wolf was dangerous yet he dressed himself up as something sweet and innocent in an effort to eventually make rabbit stew right?
You know the enemy works the same way? He dresses up danger in the clothes of the innocent and he puts a sweet disposition on destruction.
Sometimes we forget that. We forget that sin is always dressed up to look tempting. Yet when the enemy tempts us, he never mentions consequences or negative impacts.
Romans 6:23
You get what is coming to you when you sin. It is death! But God’s free gift is life that lasts forever. It is given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sadly not all of us have the discernment of Bugs Bunny when it comes to temptation do we? We don’t carry an ACME SLEDGEHAMMER to beat it back or and INVINSIBLE HOLE to escape. Often we ignore the warnings and walk right up to “granny’s bed” and fall into the wolf’s trap time and time again.
I know I do.
Freedom friends, we need to be constantly on-guard for those deceptive wolves and sneak attacks in our lives!
2 Peter 3:17
…Be on guard so that you will not be carried away
Sometimes an opportunity might appear harmless or, more likely, very appealing. But we have to remember, there could be a wolf in that gingham and he is up to no good! So…
1 Peter 5:
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith
So I encourage you. Be careful out there today. Be alert. Don’t let yourself get to the part where you are saying “My, what big teeth you have Grandma” before you get out of the cottage!
I love you all.
Be blessed.
