LIGHT LIFE!

Have you thanked Him?

Have you praised Him?

Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?

Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?

1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)

^1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

I was sitting with a friend last night before FREEDOM CHURCH. We were catching up and he was filling me in. Suffice it to say my friend had experienced a whole lot of pain and yet an amazing about of growth in the last weeks.

He had experienced some real darkness, almost fatal in fact, but now GOD was showing him light and he was really basking in it.

The light of a second chance.

The light of possibilities.

The light of a new start.

The light of a new man.

He shared that he believed he HAD emerged from the dark a new person. He left the old one, the scared one, the anxiety ridden one, the addicted one in the dark and was committed to embracing the light!

Praise GOD for that!

He had placed his faith on the WORD! His feelings were no longer in charge. Rather TRUTH was at the helm!

2 Corinthians 5:17

For if a man belongs to Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun.

Isaiah 9:2

…people who walk in darkness

will see a great light.

For those who live in a land of deep darkness,

a light will shine

New life!

New light!

And he was confident in that TRUTH; that though things had been bad, GOD had pulled him from it and now he was ready to embrace the light and embrace his life.

That story brings to this little question for us today.

Are we embracing this new life with the same zeal?

Are we welcoming the light of Jesus Christ into our day and allowing it to set our countenance and our attitude?

Is THE TRUTH setting the course or do our selfish desires or misguided feelings have the wheel?

Are we choosing the “same old same old”; the old man or woman who harbors bitterness, who settles for depression, who languishes in self-pity and loathsome thoughts?

Step into the light my friends!

Step into the new life!

The morning is new. The possibilities are endless and mind-boggling. You have been blessed with life, HIS LIFE!

1 John 4:13

…He’s given us life from his life, from his very own Spirit.

So let's take a cue from my friend and live like it!
