OPPORTUNITIES FOR OBEDIENCE

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Ok!
What is on the slate today?
Work? A little exercise? Planning for a sweetie’s Valentine gift. Oh, you mean you forgot about that? That’s why "Love Pastor" Greg is on the case.
(Not really…so did I…hahaha).
But really what do you have planned for today?
You do realize you were given a gift this morning right?
A little air. A little blood flowing. A new sunrise.
You have a NEW opportunity out there somewhere; a gift from GOD to uncover; a chance for obedience!
Go find it!
You see I was at the REFUGE yesterday; helping a friend help her friend. Her friend was young in years but OLD in experience. He came from a tough family; to be honest a little frightening family. He had experienced jail. He had experienced big time fear. He didn't learn to cook a grilled cheese at his mama’s knee rather how to smoke crack. He didn’t learn how to change the oil from dear old dad, but how to score dope. This kid had seen, done and lived a very hard life; so hard in fact that just last week he tried to end it.
But yesterday was a new day! A new opportunity! And I am certainly praying he takes his to heart and flourishes!
You see, that is what is so amazing about the GOD we serve. He keeps serving up new opportunities to serve Him and to be obedient; not just for my new friend but each day for all of us!
2 Peter 3:9
He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives.
GOD is patiently waiting for all of us to dive into an obedient life with Him; a life of promise and possibility. Sadly though, we ignore the opportunities, we squander our days and chances living selfishly and blindly to this gift.
So let’s change that this morning, let’s do like my new friend and grab today’s opportunity for obedience!
2 Peter 1:3-9
The best invitation we ever received…absolutely terrific promises…So don’t lose a minute ...complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.
With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward…
Sound like a plan?
I love you all!
