GOD is GOD

Have you thanked Him?
Have you praised Him?
Have you made it your priority to agree and cooperate with Him today?
Have you taken that deep breath and listened for what He has for you today?
1 Timothy 2:1 (The Message)
1-3The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
“God is God. Because he is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I will find rest nowhere but in His holy will that is unspeakably beyond my largest notions of what he is up to.” ― Elisabeth Elliot

What is on your plate today?
What do you believe He, GOD is up to?

Maybe you are dead in the middle of something unexpected.
Remember GOD is GOD and He can be trusted.

Maybe you are in transition.
Remember GOD is GOD and He can be trusted.

Maybe you are in too deep and can see no way through, over or out.
Remember GOD is GOD and you can REST in His will when yours has dried up or been exhausted.

The sovereignty of GOD is tricky for us “self-sufficient” folks.  We are pressed to be “in control” all the time.  We are told to handle our business to manage to the circumstances.
But more often than not we just need GOD to be GOD for us.  Those are the times when the REST that comes from saying NOT MY WILL but YOURS is most appropriate and most welcome.

“Honestly facing your lack of sovereignty over your own life produces either anxiety or relief. Anxiety is God-forgetting. It is the result of thinking that is life is on your shoulders, that it is your job to figure it all out and keep things in order.” ― Paul David Tripp

Rest in the will of GOD is relief.
Releasing sovereignty over situations is peace-giving.

What is it that you have coming down the pike today?
Are you determined to wrestle with it in your own way with your own energy counting on your own wits and steam?
Or are you willing to rest in the SOVEREIGNTY and INVESTMENT of GOD in your life and its details?  Are you willing to let GOD be GOD?

The choice is yours.

I know for me today is chocked full of “trust GOD” opportunities and as I pen this I know I will suffer from “old” anxieties and restlessness.
But I am going to take this little quote from Elliot with me today.

GOD is WORTHY of my trust and obedience for no other reason than He is GOD.  So it is as good a time as any to trust.
Psalm 9:10 (ESV)
...those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Have a blessed day…
I love you all!
